Coat Care
Steps to caring for your coat
1) When you receive your coat, it may have wrinkled in transit.
These can easily be removed by lightly steaming the coat. Always go in one direction only, from top to bottom only to avoid damaging the fibres. Hold steamer as least 10cm away from the coat. Do not iron directly onto your coat, as this will ruin the fabric.
2) After wear, gently brush your coat with a soft suede or fabric brush from top to bottom.
This will help to remove any surface dirt. You can also use a lint roller to remove any fluff or animal hair.
3) Hang your coats on wood or plastic hangers between uses, avoiding metal where possible.
Hangers should be sturdy and broad, so the weight of the coat does not stretch the shoulder areas out of shape.
4) If you spill on your coat, simply blot immediately to mop up any moisture.
Avoid rubbing as this can disrupt the fibres.
5) You can freshen up your coat by leaving it to air outside or giving it a light steam after wear.
As wool is a natural fibre it won't hold dirt and odours like other materials so there is no need to clean your coats too often as this can actually cause damage to the fibres.
